A small family farm with a quiet wellness mission.
Where Farm Fun Meets Wellness, in the unhurried way you forgot you were missing.
From homestead to therapeutic farm.
Established in 1997, Gentle Giant Acres was a family homestead raising goats, dogs, and children. In 2016 it rebirthed as a therapeutic farm south of Lethbridge, Alberta, dedicated to bringing the joy of farm life and the benefits of animal interaction to everyone.
We believe that spending time with animals, big and small, can promote overall wellness and contribute to a happier, healthier you.
Chief Poop Scooper .
Our founder Tammy wears more hats than the farm has goats, and the title she's proudest of is Chief Poop Scooper. The safety of our guests is her top priority, which is why she draws on her extensive experience and training in industrial safety to make sure all standards are met — or exceeded.
Forget stuffy offices and couches .
At Gentle Giant Acres, "therapy" takes on a whole new meaning. Studies (like Jau & Hodgson, 2018) show that simply spending time with animals can be beneficial for reducing anxiety and depression.
Whether it's a smile from a curious donkey or a gentle nuzzle from a goat, interacting with our friendly animals — horses, guinea pigs, degus, rabbits — can naturally lift your spirits and create a sense of calm.
What we're trying to build.
As a proudly woman-owned small business, we're passionate about empowering and inspiring women and girls of all ages. Through our programs, girls learn valuable life skills like independence and self-sufficiency, proving that abilities are not limited by gender.
Our programs are designed to cultivate courage, resilience, caring, and compassion. Participants of all ages learn about responsibility, accountability, and sustainability through engaging farm tasks and animal care. These lessons are not only engaging but help build a deep sense of empathy and connection to the world around us.
Did we mention the adorable goats you'll also meet along the way?
